Heavenly Mountain Resort in the top 50
Resorts in the nation (October 2006).
This year Heavenly dedicated $1.5 million
to improving the snow surfaces this ski
and ride season. In addition to five new
Prinoth 350 groomers and a new winch cat
(for grooming the steeper slopes), Heavenly
will be buffing out its snowmaking system.
“We've got the West Coast's largest
snowmaking system, so if we get a little
cooperation from Mother Nature, skiers
and riders could celebrate Thanksgiving
on the slopes," says Russ Pecoraro,

Kirkwood Mountain Resort for having the
country's best “corn" or granular
snow (April 2006). According to SKI Magazine,
Kirkwood is also in the nation?s top 10
in three categories for Snow, Terrain
Variety and Challenge (October 2005).
Freeskier Magazine selects Kirkwood in
the top Road Trips (November 2005). Kirkwood

Progression Park this season, featuring
